Sonic Youth The Eternal Review

Review date: 12.06.2009
Our rating:

Art-punk icons Sonic Youth are one of the hubs of indy rock, having influenced and been influenced by just about everyone you’ve ever heard of, and on their excellent fifteenth album you can enjoyably split your time between identifying the familiar sounds you’re hearing whilst working out which lesser bands will be first to borrow from this album. With their customarily mistuned guitars, clever brand of sexy and esoteric lyricism and lengthy, driving guitar solos, Sonic Youth sound as good as ever, putting their own distinctive twist on everything, and while many bands will try to copy them, Sonic Youth still have that certain something that makes them inimitable.

    Chris Cornell Scream Review

Scream combines Chris Cornell’s raw vocals with R&B producer Timbaland’s poppy knob-twiddling to produce an album that is fascinating in all the wrong ways.
