Our rating:
In a world full of first-person shooters and free-roaming crime thrillers, there's something endearingly straight-forward about LittleBigPlanet. The controls consist of three buttons, and your task is simply to get to the end of the level, collecting as many points and items as possible along the way. Back that up with exceptionally cute characters and you have an all-out kids game, right?
Wrong. LittleBigPlanet has some of the most mind-boggling puzzles ever. They're all rooted in real-world physics, too, so it takes some logical thinking to work them out.
What's more, once you've finished the designers' levels, you can go ahead and make your own, using one of the most robust creation tools yet seen on a console.
The whole experience is simply charming, and will make you smile as much as it taxes your brain, and that's what makes it a classic.
